Dungloe is incorporated in the Sli na Rosann walking routes which is suitable for all abilities and offers spectacular and tranquil views of the natural beauty of the landscape and the wild magnificence of the coastline.

A new 1,5 km walkway has opened recently along the town’s river commencing near the Dungloe Community Hospital. A new playground has opened for children up to 12 years old near the Shorefront an Church Road. Ionad Spoirt Na Rosann located on Chapel Road offers indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, suitable football, basketball, badminton, with gymnasium and is complemented by outdoor floodlit synthetic (all weather) pitch.

Ionad Teampailll Croine, the local resource center with library in situ is based at Chapel Road. It offers research facilities. For those interested in local historical records and parish records, Ionad Thempall Croine has everything, including the latest technology in internet access, photocopying and online facilities.

Fishing and Angling

The Rosses area has 130 lakes and rivers under the care and maintenance of the Rosses Anglers Association. Visitors may purchase a licence (at Charlie Bonner’s shop in Dungloe or at John Paul’s in Super valu) in order to enjoy fly fishing for salmon, sea-trout and brown trout. Almost all of the lakes are within a few minutes drive from Dungloe. Sea Angling fishing is available off the coastline and has become very popular in recent years. Surfing

Donegal’s rugged coastline combined with the full force of Atlantic swell provides suitable conditions for surfing along most of it’s coast, boasting a combination of beaches, reefs and points to suit all abilities.
Area richness in wave heights has attracted major global competitors. In the north west good waves can be found around Dunfanagh, Bloody Foreland and Dungloe and in the south Donegal propably two of the best known locations for surfing in Ireland, Rossnowlagh and Bundoran.
