AREA AT CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND

The area at the children's play area and around the church of Ireland is becoming a cause for concern for the local residents.  Groups of people are gathering here at night with drink and are very noisy.  One local residents states that they are "prisoners in their own house" and says she dreads when there is anything on in the town. 

We would like your comments on this topic and perhaps if there is enough interest we could send a petition or letter to the gardaí and ask them to patrol the area on a regular basis.

21ST jUNE

Complaints have been pouring in since our piece about the children's playground.  It seems the Riverwalk is also becoming an area for anti-social behaviour.  A petition has been drawn up and can be found in various businesseses in the area and in the Ionad.  This will be forwared to the Gardaí locally and also the Superintendent.  Please come and sign the petition.

Outcome - August

A very successful meeting was held with a member of the local garda force who have agreed to patrol the area at Shorefront a bit more.  Hopefully this will solve the problem.
